So much more than a regular dog harness
ABOUT VGWBELTE
History
Lena Lundby is the creator of all products under the VGWBälte brand. With her experience with dogs and her training as a canine psychologist, she designed a dog harness in the spring of 2008, which is now known as the Extension. It became a huge sensation within the dog world, and since then, the range has expanded with more products for dogs and dog owners.
The whole idea for a new type of harness came when Lena was working with dogs that had behavioral issues. All of these behaviors were fundamentally expressions of high stress levels in the dog. Understimulation, misunderstandings, overstimulation, etc., all contributed to a stressed dog that created various behaviors to find satisfaction in life. Dog owners had great difficulty keeping their dogs on walks, and most of the time, the walks were conflict-filled, which, of course, only increased the dog's stress levels.
Lena only worked with positive methods and had been searching for a harness that was gentle on the dog but still counteracted pulling. This product did not exist. Regular harnesses did not work because they only caused more pulling in the stressed dog, and the dog owner had difficulty managing the forces. A choke chain was definitely not an option, as it only increased the stress in the dog due to the choking sensation. The risk of injury was also incredibly high with a choke chain or collar. Many studies and research have shown that a dog can suffer severe and permanent injuries due to jerking on a collar.
So when no product existed with the features Lena was looking for, she decided to make her own. After several weeks of studying the dog's musculoskeletal system, physical theories and laws, and cutting up bags and jackets, the first prototype of the Extension was born. Lena was the first to come up with the idea of attaching the leash to the front of the dog's chest to counteract pulling. After it turned out to be one of the features that reduced stress in dogs, many competitors have since created copies. However, it is not only the ring at the front of the chest that provides the stress-relieving effect; there are other features that, in combination with the front ring, contribute to the positive effect.
Since 2008, the Extension has been revised multiple times to ensure the best quality and functionality. Lena decided early in the development of the Extension that the products in the VGWBälte range would only align with positive training methods, be economically accessible with modular products, and promote good health for both dogs and dog owners.
The range has expanded, and the work of designing new, smart, and user-friendly products continues. We are constantly working to develop and improve our existing products.

I am incredibly happy with this harness. My 6 year old Leonberger, who has usually been very stubborn at dog meetings, has completely changed his behavior. He enjoys the harness and since it is gentle on his neck and nose (he had a noseband before), walks are much calmer now. Super happy! Thank you very much!

My dog is in training and was recommended this harness by her trainer. Absolutely great! I usually use a collar but the harness for more difficult training such as walking with many other dogs, in a crowded city environment, etc., all to avoid jerking the neck. I can really recommend it if you have a dog that pulls.
